This handrail profile was scanned in a property in Pinces gate, Kensington. these proprties were built around 1850, the handrail is made of Brazilian or Honduran Mahogony, this would have been french polished with a shellac polish. the timber has a rich redish tinge. the style of handrail is fully geometric. The original scan size is very standard for the victorian period of property in London.
